Xbox Game Pass is an exceptionally valuable subscription for anyone who primarily games on an Xbox console, and even holds a ton of value for those who game on PC or even their mobile device. Back in September, Microsoft revealed that Xbox Game Pass was about to get a lot better yet with the addition of EA Play at no additional cost for the service. This would bring dozens of games from EA’s own gaming subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for PC.
EA Play was already added to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on consoles, but now it seems PC players will have to wait a little bit longer, according to a new announcement from Xbox.
Xbox Game Pass for PC was supposed to gain access to EA Play’s growing vault of games, which recently added Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, in December of this year, but it looks like the integration has been delayed.
We established this partnership with Electronic Arts because they are as passionate as we are about helping people and communities discover great games, and we knew we could provide a great experience for members by working together. In order to deliver on that, we need more time to provide the Xbox Game Pass experience.
It seems the reason for the delay is simple: Xbox Game Pass needs more time to integrate EA Play on PC. There’s no exact release window beyond just “2021,” which is an awfully long time, but it’s reasonable to assume that it won’t take too long for EA Play to find its way to Xbox Game Pass for PC.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t already a ton to do in Xbox Game Pass for PC, with an absurd number of amazing games to choose from. Check out our picks for the Best Xbox Game Pass for PC Games, and ensure you have enough high-speed storage for them all with one of the Best SSDs for PCs.
