A number of leaks and tips concerning Xiaomi’s Redmi K40 smartphones have hit the airwaves, as a Chinese tipster on Weibo has given us a number of hints on what to expect when the Redmi K40 and K40 Pro launch on the 25th of February.
The Redmi K40 is expected to house the Snapdragon 870 SoC while its higher end counterpart, the K40 Pro should bring the Snapdragon 888 chipset with it. The K40 Pro is tipped to offer up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage, while also wielding a rather expansive 6.81” display with a 1,440 × 3,200 pixels resolution.
The Redmi K40 on the other hand should offer 6GB and 12GB RAM variants with a similar display as the K40 Pro. The K40 is also tipped to offer a 4,500mAh battery, while the K40 Pro should house a more powerful 5,000mAh battery.
In the camera department, both devices are expected to offer four rear cameras, with leaks suggesting the Redmi K40 Pro will have a 108MP primary sensor assisted by a 13MP sensor, a 5MP sensor and a 2MP sensor. The Redmi K40 on the other hand may have it 13MP secondary sensor replaced by an 8MP sensor.
While there are still a number of uncertainties like both smartphones’ front camera specs and potential prices, we expect to know a bit more about the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro in the days leading up to the launch.
