Xiaomi Mi 11 officially announced with a 6.81-inch Quad HD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, 108MP triple rear cameras, 20-megapixels front-facing camera, 4600mAh battery, and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor.
Today, Xiaomi announces a single flagship Smartphone, which is totally unlike the trending series of the flagship devices with an extended lineup such as Pro, Pro Max, and Pro Plus.
It was launched in its hometown, China and you can preorder the device already. The entry-level 8GB RAM/128GB costs ¥3,999 ($611 USD), 8GB RAM + 256GB costs 4299 yuan ($657 USD) and the top-end 12GB + 256GB goes for 4699 yuan ($718 USD).
It will start shipping on January 1st. The Mi 11 comes in Midnight Gray, Horizon Blue, and Frost White colors with Anti-glare frosted glass back and the Lilac Purple and Honey Beige colors with Vegan leather finish. The phone has a glass back panel design.
On the front display of Mi 11 is Xiaomi’s best display ever with an A+ rating from DisplayMate. It comes with a curved 6.81-inch E4 AMOLED quad curved DotDisplay with a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate and MEMC motion compensation.
It comes with a peak brightness of 1,500 nits, 3200 x 1440 resolution, and support for JNCD of 0.38 and uses its self-developed color calibration algorithm. The phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that offers better scratch and drop resistance.
Identical to what we saw from the Mi 10 series, the main camera setup consists of a 108-megapixels sensor with a 1/1.33″ large image sensor, support OIS, a 7P lens, and an f/1.85 lens in front.
Other supported cameras include the 13-megapixels 123-degree FoV ultra-wide-angle camera and 5-megapixels macro lens. While the punch-hole camera in the upper left corner on the front houses a single 20-megapixels selfie camera sensor.
These rear camera can record 8k video coverage at 30fps, 4k 60fps, and 960fps at 720p. Other features include an in-screen fingerprint sensor with heart rate monitoring and an Infrared sensor.
It comes with USB Type-C audio, Hi-Res audio, Dual speakers, and SOUND BY Harman Kardon. The connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and NFC support.
The new device is powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset, it is the Snapdragon 888 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU VC LiquidCool Technology. It runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11 OS out of the box. None of the variants support microSD slot expansion.
It comes with a 4600mAh battery with 55W wired charging through a USB Type-C, it will work with every Quick Charge 4+, Quick Charge 3+, and Power Delivery 3.0 adapter. It also supports 50W wireless fast charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging.
Xiaomi has decided to skip the charger in the retail box, missing from the Mi 11 is a charging brick as Lei Jun, Xiaomi CEO said Mi 11 will not arrive with charging brick from the box for environmental and cost-saving reasons, similar to what Apple has already done.
Samsung is reportedly following this charger removal process, but if you don’t have a compatible charger already, Xiaomi promises to provide a 65W GaN adapter for free.
