Microsoft has unveiled two new spins on its Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S controllers, further expanding its lineup of designs for its latest generation controller. Building on the Xbox Wireless Controller, its latest and greatest 2020 model compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S devices, new “Electric Volt” and “Daystrike Camo” colorways inject a pop of color into your gaming setup.
The aggressively vibrant Electric Volt Xbox Wireless Controller continues Microsoft’s lineup of brazen controllers, accompanying the recent Shock Blue and Pulse Red designs. The variant takes the spotlight for its neon yellow shell, disrupted by black and white accents throughout the body. It’s scheduled to launch on April 27, 2021, priced at $65 in the U.S.
Daystrike Camo Special Edition also hits shelves on May 4 as the latest in its long-running camouflage design series, this time embracing a red-on-black design. The two-tone styling is the first Xbox Series X|S controller diverging from the standard solid color faceplates, retailing for $70 in the U.S. Preorders aren’t currently available, at this point in time.
These new Xbox controllers boast the usual features across all-new Xbox Wireless Controllers, including compatibility with new Xbox consoles, Xbox One devices, PC, and mobile via Bluetooth. Microsoft has also started to incorporate post-consumer recycled (PCR) resins with these designs, contributing to its sustainability pledge.
Improvements over the previous Xbox One controller include a dedicated Share button, tweaked D-pad, and overall refined silhouette, making this Microsoft’s best controller to date. These also work with Xbox Series X|S batteries and charging docks and other accessories geared for the newest Xbox controllers.
