How to Activate the New Start Menu on Computers with OS Build 20161

If the current version of your Windows 10 OS is build 20161, then follow the guide below, to activate the New Start Menu on your computer.

Step 1: Download the ViveTool utility.

The ViveTool is an open-source program that is designed with the sole purpose of activating hidden features in Windows 10, for users who do not want to join the Insider program, but still want access to Windows 10 hidden features before it is released to the public.

Step 2: After you have downloaded the ViveTool program, extract it into a folder of your choice. I will recommend the desktop folder. Nevertheless, you can leave the extracted folder in the Download folder.

Step 3: Now, from the Search function in the taskbar, type in command prompt. Right click on the Command Prompt app result, and click Run as administrator.

Step 4: Enter the directory where the extracted ViveTool utility is. Example: C:\Users\Ezefidelity\Desktop\ViveTool if you move the extracted folder to the desktop. Or C:\Users\Ezefidelity\Downloads\ViveTool if you left it in the Download folder.
But remember to change Ezefidelity above to the user name of your computer. For most people, the username is simply user.

ViVeTool.exe addconfig 23615618 2

How to Activate the New Start Menu on all Computers regardless of the OS Build

The best way to get the new Start Menu of Windows 10, is either for you to wait till when it is released to the public in an upcoming Windows 10 upgrade, or for you to join the Windows 10 Insider Program.

On the bright side, joining the Windows 10 Insider Program will give you access to not just the new Start Menu, but also all other features of Windows 10 that has not yet be released to the public.
