As it’s more commonly known, the Consumer Electronics Show or CES was a busy affair this year with a slew of announcements from the tech majors. And boy, were the products exciting and unique. While most of the products managed to raise our eyebrows, a select few managed to stand out from the crowd, thanks to their unique design, approach, and innovation.
We will talk about all the exciting product innovations at CES 2021 in this post. You must’ve guessed that we’ll mostly focus on the upcoming gadgets that are a breakthrough in a way we use them.
So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get started.
1. Acer Chromebook Spin 514
The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 bundles AMD Ryzen 3000 series mobile processor and packs up to 16GB of RAM for starters. It’s further accompanied by long battery life and light but solid build.
The launch date isn’t too far in the future with Acer promising these units to be available around February, 2021 in the US.
2. Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i
Other than that, this one is a full-powered business laptop with high-end specs such as 11th Gen Intel Core processors, fingerprint sensors, Thunderbolt 4 ports, and Dolby Atmos support, among others.
The ThinkBook Plus laptops will go on sale around the first quarter of 2021, and as you may have guessed, these will have premium price tags.
3. Samsung Galaxy Chromebook 2
However, the feature that sets it apart from the rest is its 13.3-inch QLED display. Thankfully, unlike its predecessor, it’s unlikely to cost a ton and is available for pre-order now.
4. TCL 6-Series
If you must know, the mini-LED backlighting tech plays a big role in enhancing the overall brightness and contrast of the TV while keeping the TV’s thickness to a minimum.
The 8K addition to the TCL 6-Series was not the only exciting thing at CES 2021. This company is also set to launch its TCL XL Collection. These TVs will not only sport a huge screen but will also sport an 8K resolution.
The price of the TCL 6-series 8K TVs is expected to be in the affordable section and should be available toward the latter half of 2021. Exciting, I must say?
5. Google TV
If we jump into details, Google TV will bring over 6,000 apps and over 30 streaming services. More importantly, it will also bring Google-flavored (read accurate) recommendations to the table. Cool, right?
6. Sony 360 Reality Wireless Speakers
For those uninitiated, 360 Reality Audio brings an immersive audio experience by bringing in a surround sound effect. For now, this feature is also available on Sony’s wireless earphones, such as the Sony WF-SP800N (see Sony WF-SP800N vs. Jabra Elite 75t).
More importantly, both the speakers pack a premium look and come with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. They are compatible with Spotify Connect and have Chromecast built-in.
Both the SRS-RA5000 and SRS-RA3000 will be available in February.
7. LG Rollable Phone
It’s worth to be noted that the idea of the rollable phone was first teased by LG back in 2020. While details are scarce at the moment, this concept phone is expected to be a reality by the end of this year.
8. Boost Charge Pro 2-in-1 with MagSafe
While the MagSafe support is a welcome addition, especially for people who love trying out new products, this one also sports a cool look. It has a small base, which means you can fit it in a tight space.
For now, the Belkin BoostCharge will be available from March or April.
9. Bose Sport Open Earbuds
These are truly wireless earbuds bundles the usual bells and whistles like IPX4 rating, 8-hours battery life, and a lightweight design. Plus, Bose also promises minimum leaks and high-quality music.
These are up for pre-order from the Bose website.
10. PopGrip for MagSafe
Of course, the MagSafe grips’ base is bigger than their conventional counterparts, but they will be worth the shot if you ask me.
Apart from the PopGrip for MagSafe, PopSockets has announced a couple of more MagSafe products such as the PopWallet+, PopGrip Slide, and the PopMount.
The PopGrip for MagSafe will be available in Spring 2021.
11. Razer Project Hazel
Aside from that, this mask is deemed to be highly intelligent as well. For one, the transparent design will let others see your face. It seems to be right out from a sci-fi movie, I must say.
Innovation at its Peak
Every year, CES brings a slew of innovations and this year was no different. Although CES was held virtually, it had the right flavors.
Apart from the above, we also saw exciting products like the TCL wearable glasses and a whole lineup of robots, especially the cuddly Moflin. If you are looking for a pet to cuddle without emotional involvement, the Moflin might be just what you need. Seriously, no kidding!
