Getting user feedback is an important part of the continuous development of software. Without suggestions as to what features could be added or changed, it can be hard to ensure that development delivers updates that the users actually want. Usage analytics can tell some of the story. It can identify which features are the most used. However, analytics can’t tell you how happy with those features users are.
The most common way of getting feedback from users is to occasionally ask them to leave an app rating or submit email feedback. Slack makes use of the Slackbot feature to occasionally ask for user feedback through a survey. If you want to provide feedback, then the surveys can be a helpful way to potentially influence the future development of the platform. Most users don’t want to provide feedback. However, as it takes time; and they can’t be bothered as they haven’t got anything important to actually feedback.
How to Turn off Slackbot Surveys
If you don’t want to provide feedback to Slack, you can disable the occasional Slackbot surveys by managing your preferences. To access your preferences, click on your profile picture in the top-right corner, then click on “Preferences.”

Once in your preferences, switch to the “Advanced” tab and scroll to the bottom of the page. To prevent Slack from sending you surveys via Slackbot, untick the checkbox labeled “Send me occasional surveys via Slackbot,” which can be found as the second to last option on the page.

Surveys can be a good way to provide feedback if you want to do so. If you don’t, they can be another annoying spam message that you just don’t want to deal with. By following this guide, you can prevent Slack from sending you occasional surveys via Slackbot.
