Microsoft Teams preview users can now set a schedule for when they’re out of the office. When your schedule is set to mark you as away, it will change your status on Teams and can send a status message to people that try to reach out to you with a message. According to OnMSFT, this feature is rolling out now to the public preview versions of Teams on the web and desktop.
The Microsoft 365 roadmap describes the feature:
Microsoft Teams: Out of Office
Let others know that you are not available by scheduling your Out of Office in Teams. During this time, your presence status will change to “Out of Office” and your status message will be displayed when someone reaches out to you via chat. Additionally, your Outlook calendar and automatic replies will be updated accordingly.
The roadmap currently states that the feature will roll out this month, but that’s always subject to change.
The feature supports an option to send automatic replies to people when you’re away. It also syncs with your Outlook calendar.
