As part of Bethesda joining Xbox, several Bethesda Softworks titles were added to Xbox Game Pass today. The Xbox Wire post accompanying the announcement yesterday confirmed that some titles would see Xbox FPS Boost enhancements, allowing Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S owners to run the titles at 60 FPS instead of 30 FPS.
During Larry Hyrb’s Xbox podcast, (timestamp 14:14) his co-host Jeff Rubenstein confirmed that five of the Bethesda games in Xbox Game Pass are benefitting from Xbox FPS Boost. The titles being enhanced are Prey, Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Skyrim: Special Edition, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. No exact date was given for when these games will get this support exactly, so keep an eye out over the next week or so.
Now that Bethesda is Xbox first-party, the teams are going to be working more closely together, with Head of Xbox Phil Spencer explaining that outside of contractual obligations (such as Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo), Bethesda being part of Xbox is about delivering exclusive games to platforms “where Game Pass exists.”
