The recent bridge between Facebook platforms is the ability for Facebook user to message Instagram users, and vice versa.
While this is good for businesses who wishes not to maintain two accounts but still wants to get customers from both platform. Many who have opted for this bridge now seek a way to stop it. If you are among those seeking for a way to prevent Facebook users from messaging you on your Instagram account, do the following.
Blocking Facebook Users from Messaging you on Instagram.
When you open the Instagram app, tap on your Profile avatar at the bottom-right. This will take you to your profile page.
On your Instagram Profile page, tap on the hamburger icon which is at the top-right. Then on Settings at the bottom of the navigation drawer.
At the Settings page, tap on Privacy and then on Messages.
Now, tap on Facebook Friends or People You’ve Chatted With on Messenger, and choose Don’t Receive Requests.
Doing this will prevent anyone who have chatted with you previously on Facebook from being able to send you messages on Instagram.
Next, tap on Friends of Friends on Facebook and then check the Don’t Receive Requests option.
This will prevent Friends of your Facebook friends from also reaching out to you on Instagram.
Finally, tap on Others on Facebook and check the Don’t Receive Requests option.
This option will prevent any strangers from Facebook, access to message you on Instagram.
