Pokémon ‘Sword’ and ‘Shield’ ‘Isle of Armor’ Release Date and Features

Pokémon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor Release Date and Features post thumbnail

Despite many companies deferring their plans because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nintendo, the developers of Pokémon, has confirm that the promised Isle of Armor which is the 1st part of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield expansion pass will be released in June 17, 2020.

They made this known in a trailer. In the same trailer, they provided details about some of the new things to expect with this new update. I have embedded trailer below for you to view. However, if you do not want to watch the video, I will be narrating the amazing features for you below. So, read on.


Returning Pokémon

Venusaur and Blastoise Pokémon are returning with new Gigantamax battle forms. Also, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Slowbro have new looks.

Another fan favorite Pokémons that are returning are Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-oh, Groudon, Kyogre, Dialga, Palkia, Zekrom, Reshiram, Xerneas, Yveltal, Lunala, and Solgaleo

New Pokémon

The Isle of Armor expansion have a new storyline and gyms for you to explore.

There are new fighting-type monsters that are exclusive to the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield expansion, these are Kubfu and Urshifu. However, Urshifu have a different fighting style depending on how you decide to play the game.

New Features

There are new features like Cram-o-matic which allows you to combine four items to create a consumable like Poké Balls and PP Ups. Other combinations will produce rarer and more fascinating items.

There is also a new move tutor in the Isle of Armor which will teach your Pokémon new fire and grass type moves, but you will have to pay for their services using Armorite Ore, which is a material that you will find only in Isle of Armor.

There is also a dish called Max Soup which will give some of your Pokémon the power to Gigantamax.
