Plugable’s new 7-in-1 hub adds Ethernet, 4K@60Hz support for USB-C devices

Plugable is one of the leading brands out there if you’re looking for quality PC and laptop accessories, and one of its most popular USB-C hubs has been refreshed and unveiled at CES 2021. The USB-C 7-in-1 hub (what Plugable calls the USBC-7IN1E) retains its previous generation’s ports, but also adds Ethernet and better external monitor support. Those who prefer the crisp look of 4K can now get up to a 60Hz refresh rate through the HDMI port on the hub.

Plugable maintains that it has tested the versatile chipset to work with Windows 10, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android, iOS, and iPadOS, ensuring you can use the hub with just about any modern device with a USB-C port.

The hub, alongside HDMI and Ethernet, includes two USB-A 3.0 ports, microSD and full SD card readers, and USB-C, which supports passthrough charging at up to 87W. That means you’ll be able to keep your compatible laptop’s battery charged when using the USB-C port.

Best part? You don’t have to wait if you’d like to get your hands on this new versatile hub. It’s available at most major online retailers and goes for about $35.
