You may hit some snags with Outlook this afternoon. The service appears to be down for many users around the world right now. According to Down Detector, the outage started around 12:45 p.m. ET and appears to mainly affect those based in the U.S. and Europe.
According to the Office service status page, Microsoft’s services are reporting that everything is running smoothly. In an update posted to Twitter, however, Microsoft says it is currently investigating issues accessing Outlook on the web.
Notably, Xbox Live is down right now as well. It’s possible Microsoft could be experiencing a wider outage across its services.
Microsoft has now confirmed that other services, including OneDrive, SharePoint Online, and Power BI may be impacted as well.
Update 2 (November 10) — Outage affects consumer services
Microsoft’s latest update indicates the issue only affects consumer services like Outlook.com and OneDrive.com. SharePoint Online users are impacted as well if they’re accessing the service as a guest with a consumer log-in.
