Microsoft Wants to Help 25 Million People Worldwide Acquire Digital Skills post thumbnail

The rate in which people lost their job because of the COVID 19 is alarming. But as businesses around the world are reopening, this provide job seekers a golden opportunity they can cash in. At least, job seekers that have the necessary skills and certificates. What about those that do not have?

It is with great excitement that I am sharing with you a new initiative from Microsoft. This initiative is aimed at helping over 25 million people worldwide develop new digital skill that will enable them get tech related job faster.

The Digital Skills

Microsoft says that they digital skill they will be helping people develop for free are does that have a greatest number of job openings. These digital skills are

  1. Software Developer (15M+ openings)
  2. Sales Representative (8.5M+ openings)
  3. Project Manager (2.7M+ openings)
  4. IT Administrator (2M+ openings)
  5. Customer Service Specialist (1.8M+ openings)
  6. Digital Marketer (860k+ openings)
  7. IT Support/Helpdesk (590K+ openings)
  8. Data Analyst (360K+ openings)
  9. Financial Analyst (360K+ openings)
  10. Graphic Designer (355K+ openings)

The courses include a sequence of video contents that is designed to help everyone develop the core skills needed for each role that they choose.

And the courses are available in English, French, Spanish, and German.

Certification

Apart from helping you acquire these digital skills for free, Microsoft is also greatly reducing their certification program, so that those who are sure that they know what they have been thought will be certified.

Certificate from Microsoft that usually cost hundreds of dollars have now be reduced to $15. You will be certified after you have written an exam which can be written in whole or in part in seven languages – English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Chinese (simplified), and Korean.

Deadline

This free learning initiative is not going to be free forever. It will only be free till the end of March 2021.

So, start learning as soon as possible.

Grants

Microsoft recognizes the fact that why making acquiring digital skill through their platform will is a nice move, not everyone who really needs these skills will be able to use their learning platform.

Hence, they are giving out a total of $20 million in grant and technical support to Nonprofits organizations, so that these organizations will be able to reach those that their learning platform is not able to reach.

New Learning App

For those who still have jobs and are not looking for new digital skill, Microsoft says that they will be developing a new learning app, which will be integrated into Microsoft Team.

Microsoft Team is a platform for chatting, hosting meetings, calling and collaborating. It is mostly used by businesses. So, the purpose of this new learning app, is to help employer provide world-class content from LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, their own content, and other content providers, so that their employees can use the content to up their game.

The new learning app is said to be included before this year runs out.
