Microsoft Authenticator users will be allowed to sync password via Edge browser

Every passing month, Microsoft Authenticator keeps on getting better and launching new features. This is good news for those who are dedicated Microsoft users. In all, Microsoft is becoming the most authentic password manager.

And since Microsoft still strives to handle potential passwords. The Authenticator app is gradually upgrading with the upcoming innovative features. In today’s update, the beta build is creating a feature for Android devices.

More precisely, Android users now are able to sync their password they set on their Microsoft Edge on PCs. So, technically the same password will be used everywhere they sign up. This will save users from remembering different passwords for different sites.

However, it is important to note that this feature is available publically, it is still in a testing phase. It is only available as part of the new beta. In order to release this feature for all, Microsoft is trying to gather more positive feedbacks.

Microsoft keeps on encouraging users to use the Authenticator app not only for Microsoft account but for other accounts as well.

The company states in the description of its Android client: “along with your Microsoft accounts, you can add several accounts on the Authenticator app including, Google, Amazon, Dropbox, Facebook, Github, LinkedIn and more. All of your accounts can be protected on the app as the Authenticator app follows the industry norm for time-based one-time passwords (TOTP). This can be done by permitting (2FA) Two-factor Authentication on all of your accounts. After which, whenever your sign in you will add your username and password like you do normally. Then finally, enter the one-time password (OTP) given by the Microsoft Authenticator app.”

Being the latest default browser on Windows 10, Microsoft Edge is certainly useful because of its compatibility. A lot of users are already hooked to it.

On the basis of Chromium, the new Microsoft Edge is designed. A similar engine operating Google chrome. Now along with Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, macOS, and Linux can also use this.
