Whether you want to work with your friends in cooperative missions, form a clan with them and tackle the challenges of an MMO, or blast them in the face in a PvP match, there’s an awesome multiplayer PC game out there for you. Here are some of our favorites.

Destiny 2 is the sequel to Bungie’s looter shooter MMO from 2014, and thanks to its incredibly fascinating lore, immense gameplay depth and build potential, and the wide variety of both PvE and PvP game modes, it stands as one of the best multiplayer games you can play on PC right now. The game is also completely free to try out, and if you end up enjoying it you can get the new Destiny 2: Beyond Light expansion that further expands the game’s world, story, and loot pool.

Among Us tests your ability to investigate, deduce, and (possibly) deceive as you and your crewmates need to work together to figure out who among you are murderous imposters. Lighthearted and cute in style but surprisingly strategic and nuanced, it’s no surprise that Among Us has taken the gaming world by storm in 2020.

Minecraft has become a global phenomenon since its original 2009 launch, giving players and their friends the opportunity to explore an infinite open world with Survival Mode or create anything they can think of with Creative Mode. There’s support for mods and custom servers on Java Edition, while Bedrock Edition offers cross-play functionality with Xbox One.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a gargantuan RPG filled with countless story paths, character build options, and locations to discover. The game is best experienced with friends, as you can all progress through the game while working together to create the ultimate D&D-style party.

World of Warcraft is, arguably, the definitive subscription-based MMO experience, offering players a massive interconnected world to explore, plenty of different quests and raids to embark on, and endless possibilities for player customization and expression.

The battle royale genre meets Titanfall with Apex Legends, a free-to-play mobility-focused variant of one of the hottest multiplayer genres of the last few years. With its unique character abilities and respawning mechanics, Apex Legends stands out from the crowd.

Call of Duty: Warzone is perfect for battle royale fans who like tight gunplay and fluid movement, both of which are staples of the Call of Duty franchise. Warzone brings players to new and old Call of Duty locations alike and offers several different Operators to take control of.

Rainbow Six Siege offers a unique attack/defense based experience to players as two teams of five must use drones, wall reinforcers, explosives, and more to plan and execute assaults and defenses of an objective. With countless unique characters to choose from and a sky-high skill ceiling, Siege is perfect for competitive gamers.

Overwatch is an immensely popular hero shooter that pits two teams of six against one another across a variety of maps and objective modes. There are over 30 heroes to learn across three different roles, giving players plenty of gameplay styles and experiences to learn and master.

The final game in the iconic Dark Souls trilogy is arguably the best of them all, featuring challenging combat, unique fantasy levels, and amazing bosses. There are tons of different builds you can come up with, too, and you can tackle the whole experience with friends at your side. Make sure to keep an eye out for invading players!

If you and your friends are looking for a game where you can hack monsters to pieces side-by-side, look no further than Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Featuring a variety of roles to fill, weapons and armor to earn, and massive levels to battle through, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is the perfect game for getting up close and personal with the enemy.

No Man’s Sky is the ultimate space exploration game, giving you and your friends the freedom to discover planets, study their ecosystems, and gather materials to upgrade your gear. Each planet is unique and special, making every discovery a joy to behold. You might even run into other random explorers on your travels!

What if there was soccer, but with cars? That’s the core premise of Rocket League, which pits two teams of three against each other. Boost, flip, and drift your way to victory with your very own customizable vehicle. If you get good enough, you might even be able to win some tournaments.

All of these multiplayer games are excellent, but if I had to pick just one, it would definitely be Destiny 2. With a massive amount of loot to chase, game modes aplenty, and a constantly evolving world, Destiny 2 will keep you and your friends entertained for months on end. If you’re looking for a battle royale game, you should roll with Call of Duty: Warzone. It’s arguably the best battle royale game out there right now thanks to its excellent gunplay and movement. Also, it’s got over 75 million players and is more popular than ever, meaning that you’ll be joining a gargantuan community of players.

Lastly, players who like to explore and discover with their friends can’t go wrong with No Man’s Sky. The universe Hello Games’ crafted for the game is basically infinite, providing players with opportunities for never-ending journeys across the stars.
