Chinese Smartphone maker, HUAWEI announces its 4G LTE only variant of the P40 handset. The HUAWEI P40 4G is powered by the Kirin 990 chipset and comes with 1/1.28″ 50-megapixels main sensors.
The P40 4G Smartphone is the latest entry to the P40 series that was released around this time last year. The last year’s P40 5G series is totally identical to the P40 4G variant, the network is the only difference.
With a total resemblance to the Huawei P40 5G, Huawei P40 Pro 5G, and Huawei P40 Pro+ 5G, the P40 4G arrives in a slim bezel and features a combination of a selfie camera and an infrared sensor housed in a pill-shaped cutout.
The Huawei P40 4G will be available in Dark Blue and Frost Silver colors. It only comes in a single variant, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage, which costs CNY 3,998 ($618) and will be available for purchase in China starting from tomorrow.
On the front is a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with 1,080×2,340 pixels screen resolution and it is tucked at the traditional 60Hz refresh rate. The front pill-shaped camera cutout houses the 32-megapixels selfie cam and the IR ToF module.
Around the back is a triple camera setup, offering a primary 1/1.28″ 50-megapixels sensor with f/1.9 lens, supported by an f/2.2 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, and 8-megapixel telephoto f/2.4 lens capable of 3x optical zoom.
Powering the P40 4G is the non-5G Octa-Core Kirin 990 SoC, where the P40 5G series is powered by the Kirin 990 5G SoC. These phones all run on EMUI 10.1 on top of Android 10 OS.
It supports dual-SIM (Nano), Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS connectivity. The Huawei P40 4G comes with a 3,800mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging. It is lightweight at 175 grams, which isn’t bad for such a device.
