Now-a-days, what can be done using a web browser goes beyond surfing the internet.

A web browser can be used to play games, stream movies, host meetings and webinars, make internet calls, prepare documents and so much more.

All these things that can be done using a web browser is not just because of the several functionalities that have have built into the browser. It is because most web browser supports add-ons or plugins.

These add-ons/plugins adds extra functionalities to browsers and make its usage very versatile.

The sad truth is, as you continue using your web browser, it can get to a point where the browser will not be able to function properly. And neither you the user, nor the developers of the browser will be able to pinpoint the cause of the problem.

Or, there might come a time, when you have tried some so many options to fix an issue with your browser, but to no success.

It is because of these fact that almost all web browser developers, built into their browser a functionality known as RESET or REFRESH.

What Does it Mean to Reset or Refresh a web Browser?

When you reset a web browser, you are restoring it to it’s original state. That is, to the state at which it was when you first installed the web browser into your device.

It is similar to, uninstalling the browser from your device, and then reinstalling it.

Apart from updating, resetting a web browser is the only way to fix any problem you might encounter as a result of versatile usage.

How to Reset Microsoft Edge Browser

  1. Click on the Menu icon at the far-right of the Toolbar, then click on Settings from the menu that will appear.

    Alternatively, you can type in, or copy and paste edge://settings/profiles into the address bar, then hit the Enter button on your keyboard.
  2. Next click on the Reset settings option in the left pane.

  3. Finally, click on the Restore settings to their default values option, then on the Reset button on the confirmation box that will pop-up.

How to Refresh Mozilla Firefox Browser.

  1. Click on the Hamburger icon at the far-right of the Toolbar, then click on Help from the menu that will appear, and then on More Troubleshooting Information.

    Alternatively, you can type in, or copy and paste about:support into the address bar, then hit the Enter button on your keyboard.
  2. Finally, click on the Refresh Firefox… button, then on Reset Settings button on the confirmation pop-up.

How to Reset Google Chrome Browser

  1. Click on the Menu icon which is at the far-right of the Toolbar, then click on Settings from the menu that will appear.

  2. Click to expand the Advanced options in the left pane, and then on Reset and clean up.

  3. Finally, scroll down to locate the Reset and clean up section.
    Once you do, click on the Restore settings to their original defaults option, then on the Reset settings button on the confirmation box that will pop-up.
