How to Fix Microsoft Teams Error caa82ee2 – Technipages


Microsoft Teams may sometimes fail to launch with error code caa82ee2. Usually, the app freezes for a few seconds shortly before this error code appears on the screen. And the error message reads as follows:

  • We’re sorry—we’ve run into an issue. Restart. If that doesn’t work, try signing out and back in. Error code – caa82ee2.

Interestingly enough, Teams error caa82ee2 seems to occur more frequently on RDS servers. It generally indicates the request has timed out.

The error primarily affects the desktop app. Oftentimes, if users try to open Teams in their web browser, the service gets stuck in an infinite reloading loop.

Solutions to Fix Microsoft Teams Error caa82ee2

Clear the Cache

  1. Right-click the Teams icon in the Icon Tray. Select Quit to close the app.
  2. Then open the File Explorer and go to %appdata%Microsoftteams.microsoft teams cache folder
  3. Clear the files from the following cache folders:
    • %appdata%Microsoftteamsapplication cachecache.
    • %appdata%Microsoftteamsblob_storage.
    • %appdata%Microsoftteamsdatabases.
    • %appdata%MicrosoftteamsGPUcache.
    • %appdata%MicrosoftteamsIndexedDB.
    • %appdata%MicrosoftteamsLocal Storage.
    • %appdata%Microsoftteamstmp.
  4. After that, restart Teams. If that did not work, try removing all the files from the %appdata%Microsoftteams directory.

Disable Proxy Settings

  1. Navigate to SettingsNetwork & InternetProxy.
  2. Enable the option Automatically detect settings.
  3. Then disable the option Use a proxy server. Refresh Teams and check if the error persists.

Check Your Network

Error caa82ee2 may also occur if your network connection is rather slow and unstable. If your computer fails to connect to the server within the given time range, Teams will shut down the connection request.

  • Restart your modem and computer. Or unplug your modem.
  • Disable any VPN programs that you might be using.
  • In addition, disconnect other devices using the connection.
  • Disable your firewall.

After you did all that, launch Teams again and check if the problem persists.

Remove Teams Credentials

Error caa82ee2 may also occur if you recently changed your account settings or password. Consequently, clearing the Teams credentials should fix it.

  1. Go to Control PanelUser AccountsCredential Manager and open the Credentials Manager.
  2. Then click on Windows Credentials.windows credentials pc
  3. Go to Generic Credentials and locate msteams_adalsso/adal_context_segments.credential manager ms teams
  4. And then delete that line. Check if the error is gone.

Clear Temporary Data From PC

Temporary data stored on your computer may slow down your connection. Use Disk Cleanup to quickly clear temporary files from your machine.

  1. Type ‘disk cleanup‘ in the Windows Search bar and launch the tool.
  2. Select the drive where you installed Teams and the majority of your programs. For most users, it’s the C: drive.
  3. After that, select the files you want to clear. Make sure to check the two boxes dedicated to temporary files.disk cleanup temporary internet files
  4. Hit OK.

Reinstall Teams

If nothing worked, try uninstalling and reinstalling Teams. Launch the Control Pane, go to Programs, select Teams, and hit the Uninstall button. Restart your machine.
