How to Blur Your Skype Video Call Background – Technipages


The number of people working from home has increased exponentially in recent months. Millions of employees are working from the comfort of their homes. While this has major advantages in terms of less time spent commuting, there are also some disadvantages to WFH (Work from Home).

That’s why blurring your background during video calls is crucial to maintaining a business-like image. In this guide, we’ll show you how you can blur your Skype background.

Note: Keep in mind that you need to upgrade to the latest Skype version to use the blurring feature. Click on Notifications to check for updates.

How to Blur Skype Background During Video Calls

  1. Launch or join the video call.
  2. Click on the More menu.
  3. Select Audio and Video settings.

Once this option is enabled, your background will be blurred, leaving the focal point on you.

You can also use a predefined image or upload your own images to further customize the background effect.

How to Blur Skype Background for All Video Calls

If you want to blur the background for all your video calls:

  1. Click on your profile picture.
  2. Click on the Settings button.
  3. Select Audio and video.
  4. Locate the Choose background effect option.blur background skype
  5. Select Blur to blur the room you’re in.

Note: There may be very brief moments when Skype fails to blur your background. While this feature is handy, it’s best to always keep your desk and the room you’re working in as neat and clean as possible.
