Previously known as Windows Defender, Windows Security to me can be classified as one of the best free antivirus software for Windows users.

However, many are looking for a way to disable it. Majorly because they feel it is too strict. Many more want to disable it because of the antimalware service executable issue.

No matter the reason you have for wanting to disable Windows Security on your Windows 10 computer, there are at least, 3 ways you can achieve your goal. These are:

Disabling Windows Security using Another Antivirus.

Windows Security comes preinstalled into your computer when you install the Windows operating system. And it runs automatically because Microsoft wants you protected even if you are not security conscious.

However, Microsoft will not force you to use Windows Security if you are security conscious.

So, once you install and activate any third-party antivirus into your computer, Windows Security will automatically disable itself.

Cool right? But what if you do not yet have money to pay for another antivirus, does this mean you cannot be free from Windows Security? Of course not. The other 3 options are will be of help in this scenario.

Disabling Windows Security from Within the app.

Open the Windows Security app. This you can do by typing Windows Security into the Taskbar search box, or by clicking on the Windows Security icon from the app list in the Start Menu.

Disabling Windows Security from Windows 10 Settings.

Use Windows + I keyboard keys on your keyboard to open Windows 10 Settings.

Once you do, the Windows Security app will open to the Virus & Threat Protection screen.
