Guide to Host and Join Zoom Meetings Easily.

Zoom is, by far the most popular free online video conferencing service provider. At least, as of when I was writing this post. And many more individuals, not just cooperate bodies and businesses, are turning to it, because it is secure, reliable and most of all, very easy to use.

In the guides below, I will be explaining to you, how you can both host and join meetings using Zoom.

The Zoom Client

Zoom client refers to the application that you need to install on your device (Computer or mobile phones) before you can use the Zoom service.

This client can be downloaded for free from the Zoom official website which is

After you have downloaded and install it, then we can proceed with the guides.

Register for Zoom

In order to host a meeting, you need to register with Zoom. Registration is free and easy.

All that is required from you is a working email address, your names, and your date of birth.

Registration can be done via the Zoom meeting website or the Zoom client.

To register, just visit either the Zoom meeting website, or open the Zoom client. Then click on the Sign up button and follow the on screen instructions.

Note that after you are through filling out the sign up form and have submitted it, you will need to check your e-mail box for the confirmation mail that Zoom Cloud Meeting will send to you.
When you have seen the confirmation mail, open it, and then click on the Confirmation link. This is to confirm that you are the real owner of the email address you used to sign up with their service.

After confirmation, you can now go back to the Zoom Meeting client to Sign in to your account.

Hosting a Meeting with Zoom

Open the Zoom meeting client and Sign in.
Note that has Mentioned above, you will need to have an account with Zoom before you can host a meeting.

After you have signed in to the Zoom client, you will see a big orange button call New Meeting. Click on it.

The next screen that will be displayed Is the Zoom meeting window.
Click on the Meeting info icon to get the Meeting ID and Password, the Meeting invite link (which is also automatically copied to your clipboard) and other useful information.

Getting the Meeting details

After that, you can start inviting people to join the meeting.

Also, click on the Start Video icon at the bottom-left to enable your participant see you, and then the Unmute icon as well, so they can hear you.

Joining a Meeting Hosted with Zoom Cloud Meeting

There are basically 2 ways for joining a meeting that is created with Zoom Cloud Meeting. This is by, Invitation link and by Meeting ID and Password.

Also, you do not actually need to register for a Zoom account before you can join a meeting hosted with Zoom Cloud Meeting. What you need is either the Invitation link, or the Meeting ID and Password, as mentioned above.

Join with Invitation Link.

Once you have received the invite link, click on it.

If you are not yet signed in to the Zoom client, you will be asked to specify a display name (That is, the name that will be shown to the host of the meeting and other participants.)

After that, click on the Join button and wait for the host to allow you into the meeting.

Note that if you are using the Invitation link on a computer, you will not be able to join the meeting using the Zoom client installed on your computer. Rather, you will join using your web browser.
If you want to use the Zoom client on your computer, then you will need the Zoom Meeting ID and Password.
But this is not the case with mobile phone users.

Join with Meeting ID and Password

Open the Zoom Meeting Client on either your computer or phone.

Click on the Join Meeting button.

Enter the Meeting ID and Password, then click on the Join button.

Note that, if you have not signed in to the Zoom client, you will need to provide a display name.
