Cyber Monday is always a good time to buy a new gaming laptop, not only because of deals, but because the holiday season is absolutely jam packed with hot new titles you’ll be able to play on it. About the lowest price you’re going to find anywhere is this ASUS TUF 15-inch gaming laptop which Best Buy has slashed down to just $600.
The first thing you’ll notice is the exterior, and how it looks sort of rugged. The clue is definitely in the name and while you’re not going to be hitting the trails with this, it is extremely sturdy and will stand up to being carried around in gear bags and the general test of time.
You have to keep expectations in check with any budget gaming laptop, but inside you’ll find plenty enough horsepower for a good time gaming at 1080p in the latest titles. That’s made possible firstly by the H-Series Intel Core i5 with four-cores and eight-threads. With a 45W TDP it runs a little hotter than the CPU you’d find in an Ultrabook, but it’s also tossing out more performance, and that’s what you need for gaming.
The second part is the NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GPU, which has ample power to push 60 FPS gaming at 1080p on the included 60Hz display. But you’re not limited to that of course, with the standard HDMI output making hooking up an external display a breeze.
Completing the hardware is 8GB of DDR4 RAM, which is expandable to 32GB, and a 256GB SSD, which while fairly small, can also be upgraded. And there are some awesome SSD deals available right now as well that could really set this laptop off.
