Fix 1: Use Windows 10 Troubleshooter

Windows 10 computers come preinstalled with a Troubleshooting utility. This utility by Microsoft is meant to help you understand any issues you might be having with all Microsoft apps and features.

It also help you fix most of the errors you will encounter, including the Microsoft Store 0x803FB005 error. So here is how to use the Windows 10 Troubleshooter.

  • Open Windows 10 Settings.
    You can do this from the apps list in the Start Menu under the S category, or by using the Windows + I keys on your keyboard.

  • Wait patiently for the troubleshooter to run it error detection sequence. When it is through, it will show you the errors it detects and also an Apply fix button.
    Click on that button.
  • When the Fix has been successfully applied, just restart your computer an try again.

Fix 2: Reset Microsoft Store

While using Windows 10 Troubleshoot might be an excellent choice, the fact is, most times, it does not fix the issue, especially if you are offline when running it.

A more reliable solution is to Reset Microsoft Store itself. Doing this will return the Store to its original state, as if you just installed it.
To reset the Microsoft Store, do the following.

  • Open Windows 10 Settings.
    You can do this from the apps list in the Start Menu under the S category, or by using the Windows + I keys on your keyboard.
  • When the Settings app opens, click on Apps, then on Apps and features in the left pane.

  • Once Microsoft Store finish Resetting, restart your computer and you are good to go.

Fix 3: Clear Microsoft Store Cache

Rather than Resetting the Microsoft Store app to its original state, clearing the cache might just be all that is needed in fixing the 0x803FB005 Microsoft Store error message, and many other issues.

The clear the Microsoft Store cache, do the following.

  • When it opens, type in wsrest.exe then hit the Enter button on your keyboard.

    Once it is done, then the Microsoft Store error code 0x803FB005 should be fixed.

Fix 4: Fixing Microsoft Store Error Code 0x803FB005 by Updating Windows 10
