Among the various Mass Effect editions, the Legendary edition is outstandingly awesome. This is probably because this edition is Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3 fused into one.

However, there is a tiny little problem.

The problem is, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition crashes when playing it on Xbox console.

The Crashing Problem

EA, the developers of Mass Effect Legendary are not ignorant of the crash problem their game is having on the Xbox console. If fact, in a post on their support forum, they acknowledge they are aware of the crash issue.

Speaking on the cause of this crash problem, EA_David (a community manager) says, β€œthe game will exit to the dashboard if booted while different accessories like wireless headsets are connected.”

The Official Fix

In the same post, David pointed out that a newer patch, was able to fix part of the problem.

What this means is that, if your try to access the Mass Effect launcher while your wireless headset is still connected, then the game will not crash.
However, if while in the launcher, you disable or enable a headset, then it will crash the game.

The EA developers are currently working with Microsoft to provide a full and permanent fix for this issue in the future.

The Unofficial Fix | A Work Around.

Using a Wired headset when playing the Mass Effect Legendary Edition does not cause any crash issue. So, you might want to consider switching to a wired headset rather than sticking to a wireless one.

Alternatively, if you are playing the current version of the Mass Effect game, avoid enabling or disabling the wireless headset while in the game launcher.

But if you are not playing the latest version of the game, do the following:

  1. Make sure that your wireless headset is turned off, before you launch the Mass Effect Legendary Edition from the dashboard.
  2. When you are at the launcher screen with the game, choose any of the game to launch it. (do not turn on your headset yet).
  3. Once you are at the title screen for the game you chose, you can now turn on your headset, and you will be able to play with audio working as normal without it crashing.
However, note that If you return to the launcher while your wireless headset is still connected, it will cause the game to crash.
    So, avoid doing that.
