2. Remove your antivirus
If you’re getting the 0xC1900101 error, the problem might be your antivirus software. To fix the issue, it’s advised to uninstall your antivirus completely and try to install the update again.
This issue can be caused by any third-party antivirus tool, so be sure to uninstall it and try to upgrade it again.

3. Unplug all peripherals
Some users have confirmed they managed to install the latest version of Windows 10 after unplugging all peripherals from their computers.
Although this may sound like a third-grade solution, you should try it out as it has proven to be useful for some users.
4. Remove additional RAM or your Network card
The 0XC190010 errors, and especially error 0XC190010 – 0x20017, are sometimes caused by extra RAM. Try removing one RAM module and make another attempt at installing Windows 10.
There are also users who have reported that removing their network card also fixed error 0xC1900101.
5. Run an SFC scan
- Type cmd in the search box and click on Run as administrator under Command Prompt.
- Type the sfc/ scannow command and hit Enter, then wait for the scan process to complete.
Sometimes this error can appear due to corrupted system files, but you can easily fix them by running the SFC scan.
Once the SFC scan is finished, the problem should be resolved and you should be able to perform the upgrade.

6. Check your available upgrade space
In order to upgrade to Windows 10, you need at least 16GB of storage. Not meeting this requirement may also explain why you’ve experienced 0xC1900101 errors.

8. Remove problematic applications
Sometimes third-party applications can interfere with the upgrade process and cause the 0xC1900101 error to appear. Users reported that applications such as Acronis True Image and Trusteer Rapport are the main causes for this error.
If you use either of these applications or any other similar tool, be sure to remove it completely from your PC and then try to perform the upgrade.
Users reported that their problem was resolved after removing the problematic software, so be sure to try that.
9. Disable your LAN card in BIOS
As we already mentioned, error 0xC1900101 can occur due to connected peripherals and devices. The most common cause for this problem is your wireless adapter, but sometimes this issue can be caused by your Ethernet adapter.
To fix this problem, it’s advised to disable onboard LAN from BIOS. To do that, simply access BIOS, locate Onboard LAN option and disable it. To see how to access BIOS and disable this feature, be sure to check your motherboard manual.
Once you disable this feature, try to perform the upgrade again. If you manage to install the upgrade, be sure to enable this feature back on again.

10. Upgrade your BIOS
Another way to fix this problem is to upgrade your BIOS. According to users, you might not be able to install a certain update if you have outdated BIOS. Several users reported that updating BIOS fixed the problem, so you might want to try that.
