Fast charging is a promising field, and it would not be wrong to say that USB-C Power Delivery is the future of gadgets. This fast charging tech can top up compact laptops like MacBook Pro and MacBook Air to charging smartphones and tablets. Hence, it makes sense to get a wall charger with Power Delivery.
These Power Delivery equipped wall adapters will let you charge all your compatible devices at the same time. The best part is that PD chargers are intelligent enough to determine the power rating of the connected device and based on that, it transmits the power.
So, if you are in the market looking for some great wall chargers or adapters with USB-C Power Delivery, here are our recommendations. But first,
1. Aukey Minima 20W iPhone Fast Charger
If we talk numbers, the Aukey Minima can deliver power up to 20W, thereby letting you charge both phones and tablets that support Power Delivery up to 18W. In fact, if you own one of the new Google Pixel phones, this wall charger with Power Delivery will suit your needs just fine.
It has a single output and the small form factor means it won’t jam the other ports on your wall outlet. Plus, the lightweight design also makes it great for traveling.
This Aukey product has received many reviews from its user base for its simple and straightforward approach. Do note that Aukey doesn’t include a USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to Lightning cable with the adapter, and you might have to buy one yourself.
2. Choetech 20W PD Fast Charger for iPhone
The crux of this wall charger is its small and portable form factor. And the folding pins are convenient. The small size means you can toss it in your bag or carry it in your pockets.
Again, do note that this USB-C wall charger will work best only when you pair it with compatible Power Delivery accessories, or you will see the default speed.
3. Aukey Focus
However, that’s not all the Aukey Focus is known for. This USB-C Power Delivery wall adapter is based on GaN tech. Compared to their silicon counterparts, GaN chargers are physically smaller and lightweight and are more efficient.
As is the case with USB-C PD devices, if you plug in a high power-rated device, the adapter will deliver 60W, while it will resort back to 18W for smartphones. As per Aukey, it can juice a 13-inch MacBook Pro in under 2 hours and can charge the iPhone 11 to 50% in around 30 minutes.
Power segregation is also clever. If only one port of the charger is used, you will get an output of 60W, while the PD port will deliver 45W when both the ports are in use.
Alternatively, you can check out the RAVPower 61W PD Charger. This one is a single port charger and is apt for charging devices like the Apple MacBook Air.
The other port is a USB-A port and can deliver up to 12W and is backed by Anker’s PowerIQ for optimum charging.
While it works on compatible iOS and Android smartphones, quite a few users have reported it not functioning as advertised on Samsung phones. It’s worth noting that Samsung phones do not actually support USB-C Power Delivery. Rather, they come with their proprietary charging tech called Adaptive Fast Charging.
Nevertheless, this compact, lightweight wall adapter has amassed a good number of positive reviews. Out of the 6,000+ reviews on Amazon, the Anker PowerPort PD has amassed an average user rating of 4.8-stars out of 5. As per Fakespot’s estimates, 80% of the reviews are genuine and can be trusted.
5. Anker PowerPort Atom PD 2
Being a GaN charger, this one is both lightweight and small in size. Of we talk numbers, this dual-port charger is 15% smaller than the stock MacBook Pro charger. The power segregation is decent. You will get up to 60W when only one of the ports is used, while the power will dwindle to 30W on each port when both the ports are connected to high-power consuming devices.
Anker claims that the PowerPort Atom PD 2 can fully charge the 12-inch MacBook in just 2 hours.
While the PowerPort Atom PD 2 may cost a bit more than other options listed above. That price difference makes it work with Apple MacBook Air or the older 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro and is compatible with phones like iPhones or the Google Pixel.
6. Nekmit USB C Charger
More importantly, it affords a clean and clutter-free look.
Though it’s not from one of the popular phone accessory makers, this USB-C wall charger with Power Delivery has managed to accumulate a good amount of positive reviews on Amazon. People love it for its thickness and for doing its work as advertised.
But at the end of the day, devices like these are not perfect, and the same holds for this product. If the power outlets in your house are arranged horizontally, the odds are that it might block the remaining outlets.
Nevertheless, it proves to be a good pick if you are looking for an all-in-one solution for your bedside table.
As Fast as the Flash
These were some of the good wall chargers with USB-C Power Delivery. The idea here is to pick a device that will suffice your current needs and prove to be apt for juicing your future gadgets.
